Campaign narrative

This year we celebrate 10 years of The International Day of the Girl.

10 years of amplifying rights of girls world over. 10 years of advocating to governments. 10 years of striving towards equality for all.

Plan International has been there from day one, championing the way. Because we believe a world where all people are equal is possible in their lifetime!

While we celebrate the huge strides that have been taken, we can’t ignore the fact that millions of girls are still denied an education, that girls will be forced into child marriage, that abuse continues to invade the lives of girls globally.

Girls here at home and abroad need us to ensure their voice is heard, their needs are recognised, and their rights are protected – no matter what.

So, we’re calling on you to join us. Will you raise your voice and join a movement of people advocating for and with girls all over the world?

Together, we can achieve gender equality in their lifetime!

Campaign tagline

The campaign tagline includes four variants.

The main tag with date & Plan logo should be used wherever feasible.

The other variants can be used in pieces where flexibility is desired. Only use variants where the Plan brand is clearly communicated elsewhere in the piece.

Graphic elements

The IDG 2022 campaign uses two graphic elements across collateral – the circle text, and the film frame.

The circle text contains the main campaign message of “in their lifetime”, and should be used as a supporting element.

  • Never use the circle text without also using the campaign tagline + Plan logo.
  • The circle text element can be used in any of the campaign colours, provided the contrast between the element and the background is sufficient.

The film frame functions as a framing device for images. It can be used to hero specific girls, or in a row/column configuration to highlight multiple stories.

  • Do not stretch, warp or modify the film frame asset.
  • The film frame should always be applied with yellow text and black frame. Do not use other colours.
